Do you ever ask yourself "What the hell am I doing?"

I'm about to start a new job, and it's FAR from what I actually want to do. I feel like I have just sold myself short.
Maybe it's a temporary emotion, but it just feels like I have given up and just taken a job for no reason at all.
When you go from searching for your dream career, and you end up working in road construction holding a "stop/slow" sign, it just makes you wonder "What am I doing this for?"
Starting in February, I will be standing on the side of the road with a stop/slow sign directing traffic around road construction and utility work sites.
Maybe it's just pre-job nerves...I don't know.
Does this ever happen to anyone else? I hope I'm not the only one.
